These monumental marble fragments come from the Antonine Baths of Carthage, one of the grandest Roman bath complexes in North Africa. The pieces preserve intricate carved decoration and traces of Latin inscriptions, which once adorned the massive structures of the baths. The Antonine Baths, built in the 2nd century CE under Emperor Antoninus Pius, symbolized both luxury and civic life in Roman Carthage.
