This test scan captures a richly decorated interior space of the Mausoleum of Sidi Sahbi, also known as the Barber’s Mosque, in Kairouan. The room is adorned with colorful Ottoman-era tilework arranged in complex geometric and floral patterns, accompanied by finely carved stucco wall decorations. At the center of the scan stands a slender column and a marble fountain niche framed with ornate detailing, once used for ritual ablutions. While the scan was created as part of a large-area test, it successfully conveys the artistic layering of influences that define Sidi Sahbi: Andalusian, Ottoman, and North African traditions merged into one sacred space. The Mausoleum remains one of Kairouan’s most important pilgrimage sites, honoring Abu Zama al-Balawi, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad.
