This carved stone base once supported a column in the Roman city of Carthage, located on Byrsa Hill. Though the column itself is missing, the base remains as evidence of the monumental structures that once stood here. The weathering and cracks highlight its long exposure to the elements, yet it still reflects the precision of Roman stonework. Byrsa Hill was the heart of ancient Carthage, first as a Punic citadel and later transformed into a Roman center after the Punic Wars.
